62 Athletes to Represent Dominica at School Games | Dominica News

Dominica will send 62 student-athletes to compete in five sports at the 2026 Windward Islands School Games in Saint Lucia from July 25 to August 1.

Dominica: The Sports Division in the Ministry of Culture, Youth Sports and Community Development has announced that 62 student athletes across five sporting disciplines (Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Netball and Track and Field) will head to Saint Lucia for the CBN/WINLOTT Windward Islands School Games 2026.

The 2026 Games will take place for eight days, commencing on Friday, July 25 and continuing to Saturday, August 1, 2026, with the participating countries including Dominica, Grenada, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Saint Lucia.

"Four nations. One stage. One dream. Get ready for intense competition, school pride, regional unity, and the future stars of sport battling for glory right here in Saint Lucia!” shared the Sports Division.

According to the shared list, the athletics team has a total of 25 athletes (13 boys and 12 girls) who will compete in different track and field events. Moreover, the basketball team will have 23 players representing the Nature island-- 12 boys and 11 girls.

Dominica will also compete in football matches; with 15 footballers selected in the boys' team and 11 in the girls’ team. For volleyball, 10 boys and girls hope to carry the country to the finals.

The selected teams have been working hard and training to get ready for the intense competition ahead, with the Dominica Sports Division organising a training camp to support their preparation efforts.

Yesterday, the Dominica Sports Division shared that Team Dominica is in a training camp, preparing for the games with the aim of representing the country with pride. Their training began this Monday, July 20, and will carry on to Wednesday, July 22. The team will head to Saint Lucia on Thursday, July 24.

Saint Lucia’s Ministry of Youth Development and Sports has shared the event’s schedule on its official Facebook page, where Dominica’s Division of Sports has also reshared to keep their supporters and fans informed.
