Champagne Beach Facility Reaches 35% Completion | Dominica News

Major structural works are progressing at the Champagne Beach Tourist Reception Facility, with the septic tank 70% complete and utility installations underway.

Dominica: The Government of Dominica has provided a project update on the Champagne Beach Tourist Reception Facility, reporting that construction has reached 35 per cent completion as of June 2026.

This progress was announced by the Ministry of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives earlier this week, which provided a construction project report detailing what has been achieved so far and what is currently being worked on.

According to the update, key works completed so far include site mobilization, clearing and hoarding; demolition of the existing staircase; construction of secondary visitor access; and excavation and foundation works. In addition, the construction report confirms that the basement walls have been erected, the slab and supporting columns for the middle floor have been completed and to accommodate the retaining walls, external ramp and excavation works have been undertaken.

The Ministry of Tourism also noted that several major works are currently underway. The project status update indicates that the septic tank construction has reached 70% completion while ground floor slab formwork, plumbing first fix, and electrical first fix are each 50% complete.

Moreover, work is also progressing on the main retaining wall and the construction of the access ramp for the road to the beach is continuing.

The Ministry of Tourism has also spoke about the importance of this reception facility, highlighting that it will bring substantial growth to the country’s tourism industry and also create ample opportunities the citizens of Dominica.

Providing this report, the Tourism Ministry shared, “Champagne beach tourist reception facility is designed to complement the site's natural environment, create opportunities for local businesses, and support sustainable tourism development.”
