The DFA hailed its Academy Football Festival a success after bringing together young players for a day of football, teamwork and youth development.
Dominica: The Dominica Football Association (DFA) has described its first DFA Academy Football Festival as a major success for the young players following its conclusion on Saturday, June 27, 2026, sharing that it looks forward to organising more events centred on youth development.
The festival, organised by the Association's Technical Department, gathered young and talented football players from different accredited academies at the DFA Technical Centre in Stockfarm, Roseau on Saturday where they engaged in a day of fun, competition, skills exhibition and teamwork.
This initiative is part of the DFA’s greater efforts to strengthen youth development across the country and provide a platform for the players to showcase their talent and build confidence.
“The intention is for us to be able to impact development among the young people and to get them playing football in the correct way,” explained DFA Technical Director, Mr. Bardouille during an interview with the media on Saturday.
Yesterday, the DFA took to Facebook where it shared picture highlights of the event with the general public with a caption, “The Dominica Football Association’s Academy Football Festival was a wonderful celebration of youth football, talent, energy, and joy. It was a day filled with fun, expression, teamwork, and jubilation. The festival provided another important avenue for our young players to enjoy the beautiful game while showcasing their talent and passion for football.”
