Dominica Hospitals Authority has welcomed 10 new nurses, who are now in orientation and joining events for International Nurses Week 2026.
Dominica: The Dominica Hospitals Authority (DHA) has announced that it has added ten new nurses who have joined the medical team with the aim of bolstering healthcare delivery for patients. The nurses have expressed their commitment to serving the citizens, sharing that they are looking forward to improving the quality of healthcare in Dominica.
The Dominica Hospitals Authority shared that they have welcomed the new nurses who are currently undergoing their orientation sessions. The nurses have joined the team in time for the start of International Nurses Week from May 6 to May 12, 2026. To mark their arrival and celebrate the profession, the Hospitals Authority has planned to host different events including a church service and sports day.
The newly registered nurses have shared that they are looking forward to starting this journey and serving the citizens, each sharing their unique experiences which drew them to this profession.

Nurse Mea Andrew stated that she chose nursing because she loves dealing with people and is empathetic. Mea Andrew has promised to make a difference in her new role.
I am going to make a difference in Dominica’s healthcare and that I can promise each and every one of you. I am going to make sure anyone who end up under my care is comfortable and well taken care of, stated Mea Andrew.
Nurse Uchechukwu Rose Osa-Egonwa also declared, “What you would expect from me as your nurse would be the love and compassion and to know that you are being taken care of by someone who would make sure that they do anything within their power to nurse you back to life.”
The citizens of Dominica have taken to the comment section to wish the nurses well on their new journey, encouraging them to always serve the citizens with care and respect.
