Dominica: The Dominica Football Association (DFA) has announced that the 2026 DFA Division One League is on track to begin soon, with the kick off the season scheduled to take place next Wednesday, on June 3, 2026.
This announcement was issued on Thursday, May 28, 2026, in the form of a press release where the DFA confirmed the date with the general public. According to the Football Association, the 2026 League will be played across two tiers—Tier 1 and Tier 2—as part of the Association’s continued efforts to “strengthen the structure of football development and competition across Dominica.”
Clubs placed in Tier 1 will include those who had earned a minimum of 10 points in the previous league, while those in Tier 2 will be those that had finished with less than 10 points in the previous DFA League. Moreover, Tier 2 will also include new clubs that have just registered for the 2026 season.
Each Tier will follow a one-round Round Robin format during the competition, with clubs in Tier one playing a total of 10 matches and those in Tier 2 playing 9 matches. The team with the most points in each Tier will be awarded as the 2026 DFA Division One League Champion for their respective Tier.
According to the DFA, the champion in Tier 1 will earn a direct promotion to the Premier League and the second-place winner will play against the ninth-placed Premier League team for a spot in the league.
DFA has revealed that the Tier 1 competition will feature All Saints FC, Calibishie FC, East Central FC, Exodus FC, Fondcole United FC, and North Side FC. Also competing are RC Doctors FC, St. Joseph/Layou FC, South City FC, Tarish United SC, and Warner SC.
