Dominica’s Electoral Office has begun distributing Voter ID cards in Petite Savanne, Vieille Case and Portsmouth, with collection ongoing at designated centres.
Dominica: The Dominica Electoral Office has announced that it has officially begun the distribution of Voter Identification Cards to residents of three Constituencies across the country, including Petite Savanne, Vieille Case and Portsmouth. The exercise had begun on September 8, 2026, and is currently ongoing, with distribution taking place from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., across different centres.
The Dominica Electoral Office has shared a notice informing the confirmed voters of the availability of their cards, adding that citizens needing to check their status may do so at the confirmation list posted on the Office's site each month.
Along with the announcement, the Office has also provided information on the designated distribution centres where residents can collect their cards.
According to the announcement, in the Petite Savanne Constituency, residents of Pichelin, Petite Savanne, Dubique, Bagatelle and Bellevue Chopin are collecting their cards at the Bellevue Chopin Resource Centre.
For the Vieille Case Constituency, residents of Lahaut, Penville and Lower Penville are collecting their cards at the Penville Resource Centre, while residents of Ambas and Vieille Case are obtaining them at the Vieille Case Village Council. Moreover, those in Thibaud are receiving their cards at the Thibaud Smart Centre.
Moreover, card collection for those in the Portsmouth Constituency is ongoing at Nagico Insurance where distribution is catering to voters in polling districts L01 Glanvillia, L02 and L03 Portsmouth, L04 Bourne, and L05 Dos Dane.
The Dominica Electoral Office has informed the residents that a notarized letter is required for anyone collecting the Voter ID cards on behalf of someone else.
It's been a little over a month since the Electoral Commission had begun the printing and distribution of the ID cards, with the distribution now taking place in 5 constituencies across the country. Moreover, the Commission has shared that residents in the Soufriere constituency expected to begin soon.
The Electoral Office has shared that it remains committed to ensuring an accessible and efficient process for the distribution of voter identification cards.
