Dominica Dominates 2026 Caribbean Music Award Nominations | Dominica News

Eight Dominican Bouyon artists have been nominated for the 2026 Caribbean Music Awards across the Bouyon Artist and Bouyon Song categories.

Dominica: Eight of Dominica’s Bouyon artists have been nominated for the 2026 Caribbean Music Awards, representing Dominica and its culture across two dedicated categories including Bouyon Artist of the Year and Bouyon Song of the Year.

These nominations are more than individual achievements; they speak volumes about the incredible talent that’s rising from the island and are a celebration of Bouyon music, reflecting its recognition across the Caribbean and beyond.

Nominated for Bouyon Artist of the Year are 1T1, Asa Bantan, BRG Hollywood, Dirty Dawg Pudaz, Mr. Ridge, Reo, Shelly & Signal Band, and Trilla G.

Moreover, the race for Bouyon Song of the Year is equally exciting featuring "Shake Something" by Dirty Dawg Pudaz, "La Vie Doux" by Reo and Téhilah, "Bye to the Old Me" by Shelly & Signal Band, "Take Me as I Am" by Trilla G, and "Put That on That" by Khallion. “Bouwey” by 1T1 ft. Theomaa, and “Time 2 Grind” by BRG Hollywood (SMX), and “Se Miimii” by Miimii have also been nominated for the 2026 song of the year category.

The Ministry of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives took to Facebook to share the nominees with the general public and congratulating the selected artists for their work.

In their post, the Ministry of Tourism wrote, “Congratulations to Dominica’s Bouyon Artists nominated in the 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬! Your sound, energy, and passion continue to keep the culture alive, push the genre forward, and proudly represent Dominica on the international stage.”

It further noted that Bouyon music continues to play a major role in sustaining, representing and providing meaningful experiences of Dominica’s culture worldwide.

“As the Nature Island continues to grow as a destination, Bouyon remains a powerful part of our cultural identity and experience we share with the world,” shared the Ministry.

The Ministry has encouraged the citizens to show love and support to the nominees by voting for them at CaribMusicAwards.com, with the deadline being the 10th of August 2026.
