Dominica wraps up nationwide public consultations for the 2026/2027 budget, allowing citizens to voice priorities before parliamentary presentation.
Dominica: The Government of Dominica has shared that it has concluded the nationwide public consultations for the 2026/2027 National Budget. The consultations came to a close on Friday this week, June 5, 2026, with the final engagements taking place in Roseau and Portsmouth.
These talks are significant as the Government continues to prepare for the upcoming budget, allowing citizens to voice their opinions and share their priorities before the final budget is presented in Parliament.
Prime Minister Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit was seen chairing the consultations which also included the presence of different Government officials, including the Minister of Finance, Economic Development, Climate Resilience and Social Security, Dr. Irving McIntyre; Minister for Health, Wellness and Social Services, Cassanni Laville; Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy, Roland Royer. Additionally, members of Cabinet and Parliamentary Representatives were also in attendance.
Prime Minister Skerrit shared highlights of the final consultations on his official Facebook page, underscoring its importance and reaffirming the Government's commitment to transparency, accountability and to ensuring that the voices of citizens are reflected in national development priorities.

In his post, Dr. Skerrit wrote, “The sessions provided an opportunity for stakeholders to share their perspectives and priorities as Government continues preparations for the upcoming budget.”
The Prime Minister further extended his thanks to all participants who attended the sessions as well as those who contributed to the discussions.
A few citizens have taken to the Minister’s comment section, with many pleased with the taken initiative, noting that it will allow for better planning and coordination to ensure the 2026/2027 National Budget prioritises the needs of the citizens.
