Dominica has confirmed 20,455 voters and approved 1,728 new registrations as the Electoral Commission advances voter ID distribution before October 14.
Dominica: The Dominica Electoral Commission has shared a significant update on the current voter registration process in Dominica, reporting an increase in new voter registrations and confirmations ahead of the official deadline closing on October 14, 2026.
This update was shared by the Chief Election Officer, Anthia Joseph, who announced that more that 20,000 voters have been confirmed and close to 1,800 new voter registrations have been approved.
I will take the opportunity to also give you an update at this time on the total number of persons who have been confirmed and those who have been approved and those also who have applied for registration and approved for registration, shared Chief Election Officer Joseph.
She further added, “To date, we have 22,242 persons who have applied for confirmation thus far and we have 20,455 persons being approved for confirmation. For registration we have had a total number of 1,999 persons who have applied for registration and 1,728 persons being approved for registration.”
The Dominica Electoral Office has already begun the printing and distribution of the Voter Identification Cards, with citizens in the Roseau Central and Roseau North Constituencies being the first recipients of the cards.
Moreover, as of Monday, August 24, the Electoral Office has also expanded its services to the Roseau Valley Constituency its Voter ID card distribution to residents of the Roseau Valley Constituency.
The cards are available for pickup at the Electoral Office of Dominica in Roseau from Monday (9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) to Saturday (9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.). The Office has shared that a valid ID is required to collect the Voter ID cards as well as an authorization letter for those collecting on behalf of someone.
When collecting your Voter ID Card, please remember: Walk with a valid form of identification when collecting your card. If collecting on behalf of someone else, you must present an authorization letter from that person and a 25-cent stamp, shared the Office.
