Dominica voters without a Voter ID Card can use approved forms of identification, including a passport, driver’s licence or Social Security card.
Dominica: The Dominica Electoral Office has issued a notice to the general public, outlining the identification requirements needed for registered voters unable to obtain their voter ID cards in time for the elections.
This public notice was issued by the Electoral Office on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, and comes after the Electoral Office announced the commencement of the printing and distribution of Voter Identification Cards in Dominica.
In the issued notice, the election authority has informed the citizens that ID cards are being issued to individuals listed on both the Confirmed Voter’s list and the Supplementary List however, for persons who may be left without an identification card during the ongoing confirmation period, alternative forms of identification will be accepted to participate in the elections.
If your name is on the official voters’ register, you cannot be denied a ballot solely because you do not have your Voter ID Card, however you do need to produce valid Identification, declared the authority.
According to the Dominica Electoral Office, voters will be required to present one of the following:
A valid passport issued by the Government of Dominica.
A valid Dominica Driver’s Licence and a valid certificate of birth issued by the Government of Dominica.
A valid Dominica Social Security Registration Card and a valid certificate of birth issued by the Government of Dominica.
A valid certificate of birth issued by the Government of Dominica and a passport sized photograph certified by a Justice of the Peace, Commissioner for Oaths or Notary Public to be a true photograph of the elector.
The electoral body has also informed the public that the new list for electors whose voter confirmation was approved during the period July 1 to July 31, 2026, has been published. The revised Supplementary List was also released (https://www.electoraloffice.gov.dm/.../Revised...), with voters urged to review and verify the accuracy of their recorded information.
Distribution of the Voter ID cards officially began on Monday, August 10, 2026, and is currently ongoing, with citizens in the Roseau North Constituency being the first recipients.
