Dominica: Dominica and France have taken another step forward in strengthening legal cooperation as the countries announced that they have signed the final draft agreements on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters and extradition. These final versions of are expected to enhance cooperation as the two countries seek to strengthen their efforts to combat crime that crosses national borders.
The two drafts were signed earlier last week by Dominica’s Minister of National Security and Legal Affairs, Rayburn Blackmoore, and H.E Marie-Noëlle Duris, France’s Ambassador to Dominica.
According to the information shared, the final versions were signed following months of preparations and discussions between the two parties, which preceded the three days of negotiations that culminated in the finalization and signing of the agreements. These bilateral discussions were spearheaded and coordinated by Emmanuelle Doffe, the Liaison Judge at the French Embassy.
The French Embassy announced this important advancement in judicial cooperation on Facebook, with picture highlights from the signing ceremony, underscoring the importance of the agreements for both countries.
Last week, the final version of two drafts on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters and extradition between France and Dominica were signed by H.E Marie-Noëlle Duris along with the Minister of Homeland Security and Judicial Affairs, the Honourable Rayburn Blackmoore, shared the French Embassy, announced the French Embassy.
In the post, the Embassy also extended its gratitude to Dominica for its continued cooperation and commitment to strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries, stating that it hopes the agreements will facilitate closer legal and judicial collaboration.
