The administration has organised a consultation session on the 11th of February, inviting all farmers, fishers and Agro-processors in the South-East region to strategize and create a sustainable industry for the country.
According to the Government, the session will be beneficial for the agricultural stakeholders as it is aimed at fostering collaboration, sharing opportunities and informing participants about the government initiatives for supporting strategic growth in the agricultural sector.
On Monday, February 9, the Agriculture Ministry shared the announcement on their official Facebook page where they have urged all farmers, fisheries, and processors from the South-East region to join them as they discuss how the nation's agricultural industry is expected to develop in the future.
“Let’s keep the momentum going! Together, through ongoing collaboration, we can continue improving agriculture for everyone,” shared the Ministry.
This consultation session will take place this Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Jones Beaupierre Primary School from 03:30 p.m. onwards.
This session follows a previous consultation held with farmers from the East on the 4th of February, as the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy continues its outreach across the island. The previous session proved to be a success with over 100 farmers, including organized farming groups, in attendance.
Similar to the previous consultation, the discussion will be led by officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy, Dominica Export Import Agency (DEXIA) and AID Bank. The officials will engage with all participants and share their insights on how to advance the industry forward.
Moreover, discussions will highlight the Government’s agricultural policy measures as well as ongoing initiatives and future projects for the sector. The Ministry of Agriculture will also discuss the available opportunities for the farmers, fisherfolk and Agro-processors as well as strategic and practical measures to better position themselves for enhanced production, productivity and long-term sustainability.
The Ministry has listed that those participating will come from different villages including Delices, Point Mulatre, Boetica, Laronde, Case O’ Gowrie and La Plaine, Mome Jaune. The consultation will also include participants from Riviere Cyrique, Grand Fond, Rosalie, Newfoundland and Tarish Pit.
