During his address, Dr. Skerrit spoke of Ian’s journey of being a Parliamentary Representative for the Soufriere Constituency where he pushed for the $40 million sea defence wall to be constructed.

That sea wall is a lasting legacy of Ian’s representation of that constituency. The sea wall has really transformed the lives and the communities of the communities of Soufriere, Gallion, and Scotts Head; it has certainly enhanced their safety and the value of their properties, stated Dr. Skerrit.

Skerrit went on to speak about the Union Estate in Pointe Michel and the road projects, adding that wherever Ian Pinard had served, he was a man of action, dedicated and committed to advancing the lives of the people.

He has made such a huge contribution at a young age into this country. As the Prime Minister, I could always rely on Ian to get the job done because of his passion, diligence, commitment to hard work and his perseverance. Wherever he was, Ian excelled beyond comprehension, declared Skerrit.

The National Leader encouraged those present to honour the life of Ian Pinard by leading a life of compassion and love for people, appreciating, encouraging and strengthening them while they are still here.
