The 2026 Dominica Wellness Fair brought together 25 local wellness vendors, healers, and practitioners who showcased a wide range of health, fitness, and holistic wellness products and services.
According to the DDA, the vision for the event was to “create a space where people could connect with the professionals, businesses and organizations that are helping to improve health and wellness across Dominica.”
The citizens participated in a mix of active physical workouts, practiced mindfulness techniques, consulted with health experts and got free health screenings.
Present at the event were Denise Charles-Pemberton, the Minister of Tourism; Claudius Lestrade, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism; Marva Williams, the Director of Tourism and Chief Executive Officer of the DDA and many other key stakeholders.
Minister of Tourism Denise Charles-Pemberton delivered her address during the opening ceremony, where she underscored the importance and value of the wellness tourism for Dominica. The Minister stated that this is the time to unlock the industry’s potential, as the country already possesses what it takes to establish itself as a premier wellness destination.
Wellness is one of the fastest growing sectors in global tourism and I believe it presents Dominica's next big opportunity; not because we have to reinvent ourselves, but because we already possess what the world is searching for. The world is searching for wellness, and God has already placed it in Dominica. The opportunity is ours. The responsibility is ours. The time is now, stated the Minister of Tourism.
She emphasised the need to strengthen the wellness ecosystem through creating stronger partnerships, greater collaborations between hotels, guest houses wellness practitioners, farmers, fishermen, artisans, manufacturers, restaurants, transport providers and tour operators.
The stronger our value chains become, the more economic value remains right here in Dominica. Every partnership we create keeps money circulating within our economy and ensures that more Dominican families benefit from tourism, she declared.
Minister Denise stated that the Government has and continues to invest in Dominica’s tourism sector, including tourism infrastructures, adding that the investments have laid the foundation for the industry’s growth.
