Dominica’s Castle Bruce Health Team has begun Wellness Month activities, including training staff of the Yes We Care Programme to support vulnerable people.
Dominica: The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Social Services has announced that Caribbean Wellness Month 2026 has officially launched in Dominica, with plans to celebrate the month-long programme with different health and wellness activities and events throughout September.
According to the Ministry of Health, this year's theme is “Engage, Empower, Elevate" with the month dedicated to promoting healthier lives, stronger communities, and a healthier Dominica.
The Ministry has shared this announcement on its official Facebook page, informing the citizens of the upcoming 2026 Caribbean Wellness Month celebrations. It further advised citizens to stay alert and updated as it will announce the activities and events set to take place, promising a month of fun.
On its post, the Ministry has also expressed the importance of wellness month in promoting healthier lifestyles across communities as well as improving the quality of life in the country. It noted that health and wellness should be a way of life and is essential in supporting physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
"This September, we’re choosing wellness for ourselves, our families, our communities and our nation! Under this year's theme and the powerful call “Our Mind. Our Body. Our Wellness. Empowering Caribbean Youth", we’re putting our health first and making wellness a way of life. From getting active and eating healthier, to caring for our mental well-being and making positive choices, every small step counts!" shared the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Social Services.
Meanwhile, the Ministry has also informed that the Castle Bruce Health Team has begun its Caribbean Wellness Month activities. Recently, the team hosted a training session with staff of the Yes We Care Programme to strengthen their knowledge and practical skills in supporting vulnerable individuals.
"These sessions are part of the commitment to ensuring that those who provide care in our communities are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to do so safely, confidently and compassionately," stated the Ministry.
It added that the Castle Bruce Health Team will continue with the session to build capacity and strengthen the "circle of care for the most vulnerable."
