Dominica Launches First Goûté Domnik Culinary Festival | Dominica News

Goûté Domnik runs July 19–26 with a one-pot competition and Restaurant Week featuring 19 restaurants and specially curated prix fixe menus.

Dominica: The Ministry of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives has shared that it has officially launched the island’s first-ever premier national culinary festival, Goûté Domnik: Taste of Dominica. The official launch happened on Friday, July 15th, 2026, and was held at "In De Yard," 31 Cork Street in Roseau, Dominica.

Goûté Domnik is scheduled to run for eight from Sunday, From July 19 to July 26, 2026, under the theme "Where Flavour Meets Nature." Organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Discover Dominica Authority, and Dominica Festivals, this initiative plans to showcase the island’s rich Creole traditions, farm-to-table ingredients, and local chefs.

According to the Tourism Ministry, the culinary festival has two main components: the One Pot Friendly Competition, which will kick off Goûté Domnik on July 19, 2026, at the Hillsborough Exit Point from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. During the contest different chefs and community groups will face off in a live cooking competition showcasing traditional Dominican one-pot dishes.

The following day, July 20, Restaurant Week will take place and continue for the entire duration of the festival. During restaurant week, nineteen restaurants will serve specially curated prix fixe menu across four price categories, with each price differing according to the dining experience.

Diners can enjoy the Island Bite menu for menu for XCD $60, the Creole Delight experience for XCD $120, or the Taste of Nature option for XCD $200. Additionally, the price category also includes an Eat Local option where people can dine affordably, enjoying local foods below XCD $60.

The Ministry of Tourism and DDA have invited everyone to join them on the island’s first ever food festival, encouraging them to book their reservations at their restaurants of choice.

Sharing the announcement on Facebook, the Ministry wrote, “Bring the family, pick your team, and taste your way through the first day of Goûté Domnik – Taste of Dominica. Restaurant Week starts the same day, so Sunday dinner is already sorted too.”
