Dominica’s Ministry of Tourism is seeking qualified professionals for Deputy and Assistant Maritime Administrator roles.
Dominica: The Ministry is looking for two qualified professionals to join the Maritime team as Deputy and Assistant Maritime Administrators.
Last Friday, April 3, 2026, the Maritime Administration Unit within the Ministry of Tourism shared that two positions, Deputy Maritime Administrator (Local Office) and Assistant Maritime Administrator – Technical Services, are currently vacant and in need of filling.
The Ministry has issued an official vacancy notice to the general public, where it has provided a detailed description of the educational background, level of experience, competencies and other information required for each position. Each position has a one-year contract, which the Ministry shared will be renewed upon being satisfied with the person’s performance.

For those applying for the Deputy Maritime Administrator position, individuals need to have a Master's Degree in Maritime Law (LLM), Maritime Administration, or International Policy. Moreover, a minimum of 6–10 years of progressive experience in maritime regulatory affairs or senior maritime legal practice is also one of the requirements.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or Nautical Science, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related experience is the educational background required for those wishing to apply to be the Assistant Maritime Administrator. The applicant also needs a minimum of 3-7 years of experience as a marine surveyor, class surveyor, or senior Port Operations Officer.
Both positions have a deadline of April 30, 2026, at 4 p.m. Eastern Caribbean Time. The applications, which include a cover letter and resume with three references, are to be sent to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Claudius Lestrade, at pstourism@dominica.gov.dm.
