Dominica Police launch St. Aroment community foot patrol | Dominica News

The Dominica Police Force continues its community policing outreach in St. Aroment, conducting foot patrols to address resident safety concerns and build trust.

Dominica: The Dominica Police Force organised a “Meet and Greet Foot Patrol” to encourage open communication and promote safer neighbourhoods for the residents of St. Aroment.

Last week, the police force in Dominica took to the streets of St. Aroment for a meet and greet session with the community. The officers engaged with the residents as they listened to their safety concerns and offered practical recommendations where needed.

This initiative has reaffirmed the police force’s commitment to serving the community and promoting safe environments for the citizens of St. Aroment. The meet and greet foot patrol took place on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, with the officers patrolling from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., whilst engaging with different individuals.

During the foot patrol, the officers conversed with the residents, addressing their concerns and offering assistance and practical recommendations where needed. The patrol was reported to be a success, with the police force receiving positive responses from the community, who were thankful for the efforts taken by the officers.

The response was overwhelmingly positive, with villagers expressing appreciation for the initiative and the officers’ presence. Together, we continue to build safer, stronger communities! shared the Dominica Police Force.

Moreover, the Dominica Police Force has assured the residents that more patrols are to be expected in the near future.

Dominica Police Force shared photos from their encounters with different residents on their Facebook page with a caption that reflects the importance of this initiative in strengthening community bonds.

Initiatives like these help build trust, encourage open communication, and promote safer neighbourhoods for everyone. We thank the residents of St. Aroment for their warm reception and continued cooperation in helping to keep our communities safe, captioned the Police Force.

This was not the first time the Dominica Police Force patrolled the community of St. Aroment. Just last month, on March 25, 2026, the force began this effort to connect with the residents and establish a relationship of trust between them and the community they serve.

The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force Community Policing Initiative collaborated with the Police Assisting Communities to Excel (P.A.C.E) to make this meet and greet foot patrol initiative possible.
