Dominica schools receive DFA football resources | Dominica News

Seven primary schools in Dominica received football gear through the FIFA Football Schools Programme to boost youth development.

Dominica: The Dominica Football Association (DFA) has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing and supporting youth football development in the country as it distributed football resources to seven primary schools participating in the FIFA Football Schools Programme in Dominica. This initiative was rolled out by the DFA Technical Department and is part of the Association’s ongoing effort to nurture the players’ talents and provide greater opportunities for the young athletes.

So far, the Football Association has provided the resources to Trafalgar Primary School, Massacre Canefield Primary School, Pioneer Preparatory School, Campbell Primary School, Delices Primary School, Belles Primary School and Concord Primary School. These schools were equipped with training gear and football supplies, including footballs, training cones, training bibs, portable goal equipment and many more.

According to the DFA, the initiative aims to strengthen engagement towards the sport, equipping the young players with the skills needed to reach their full potential.

All these schools have already received their supplies, and we hope and are looking forward to the supplies encouraging greater participation in the sport while promoting physical fitness and development among students, shared the DFA.

Moreover, the Association was also seen independently expanding its reach by donating a custom package of training equipment and structural resources to Morne Jaune Primary School, ensuring that no school is left behind.

Picture highlights of the hand-over ceremony at the schools have been shared on the Dominica Football Association official Facebook page. In its post the Association wrote of the significance of programmes such as these, noting that they play a major role in “strengthening grassroots football and creating more opportunities for both boys and girls at the primary school level.”

A few citizens have taken to the comment section to praise the Football Association, speaking of the impact the initiative will have in the children’s lives.
