Government plans major school upgrades across Dominica, improving infrastructure and learning environments to enhance student performance nationwide.
Dominica: The Government of Dominica has announced that it has planned major school enhancement projects for communities nationwide which will improve the school’s physical structures and modernize their facilities.
The announcement for the launch of this upcoming project was revealed by Prime Minister Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit who spoke of its significance in the country's educational sector.
There is going to be launched a major programme of transformation and renewal of the school plans across Dominica. We are already looking at a complete transformation of the physical structures, announced Prime Minister Skerrit.
Dr. Skerrit explained that although many schools may be structurally stable, their level of comfort needs to be enhanced in order to support the kids in their learning journey seeing as many of the structures have been in existence for decades.
The Minister went on to outline that upgrades will be made to the floors which will receive new tiles, the schools will also receive new windows and undergo repainting, like the upgrades made to the healthcare industry.
A lot of the schools will be tiled, properly repainted, new windows, similar to what we have done in the health sector, where we have already transformed the health facilities across Dominica, from primary to tertiary level in Dominica. So we are continuing that pace with the education, so that every school will be at the same level in terms of conduciveness, the Minister declared.
Prime Minister Skerrit has reaffirmed the Government's commitment to enhancing the educational experiences of students across the island, stating that this investment is part of the Government’s continued efforts of empowering the learners in their journey.
This announcement was well received by the citizens of Dominica, who have expressed their opinions in the comment section.
