Fuel prices in Dominica have increased from 30 March following government changes linked to global oil supply pressures.

Dominica: The Government has announced new prices for some petroleum products in the country, the updated prices are effective from March 30, 2026.

Amid the ongoing United States, Israel and Iran conflict, which has been seen affecting the supply of oil in different parts of the world and causing petroleum products prices to skyrocket, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business, Trade and Energy has issued a notice to RUBIS Eastern Caribbean Limited where it informed the company that prices for gasoline, diesel and kerosene will increase.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs released this notice on Friday, March 27, stating that the updated prices will be implemented in the country starting Monday, March 30, 2026.

For the wholesale price, gasoline will be sold at $14.67 per gallon, while the retail price will now cost $15.67 per gallon.

Prices for high Sulphur diesel on the island have increased to $15.04 per gallon (wholesale) and $16.04 per gallon (retail). In contrast, ultra low Sulphur diesel will be priced at 16.95 per gallon (retail) and $15.95 per gallon (wholesale).

According to the notice, the cost of kerosene will be $13.44 per gallon for the wholesale price and $13.92 per gallon for the retail price.

Barbara Dailey, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business, Trade and Energy, has encouraged the primary fuel distributing company in Dominica to take note of the increase in prices and to be guided accordingly.

Information of the updated prices spread across the country, with many citizens expressing their concerns and inquiring about what the next few months will look like and how they will cope with the rising prices.

Some, however, have noted that the prices, when compared to other countries, such as the UK are significantly lower.

Darren Louis shared, “The UK prices are twice that price. I’m so happy buying gas in Dominica.”
