Dominica’s senior men’s and women’s volleyball teams will compete at the 2026 ECVA Championships in the British Virgin Islands from August 12 to 16.
Dominica: The Dominica Amateur Volleyball Association (DAVA) has unveiled the national teams set to represent Dominica at the 2026 ECVA Senior Volleyball Championships in Tortola, British Virgin Islands. The competition will commence this Wednesday, August 12 and conclude on Sunday, August 16, 2026.
Both the male and female senior volleyball teams have been drawn in Pool B, with the women’s team set to first compete against Anguilla, while the male team faces Bermuda.
The women’s National team is captained by Zahidu Henry, with Joeanne Pascal, Tamisha Roberts, Kimisha Jno Baptiste, Shakira Sorhaindo, Tarmeca Carby, Nyla Edmund, Ethlyne Lockhart, Kaya Cuffy, and Tkeyah Robin finishing off the 10-member squad. The tournament will mark the women’s team return to the ECVA stage after several years away.
Made up of 11 players, the men’s team is led by captain Yahn Florent. Other players also include Mervin Mingo, Nester James, J’Den Robinson, Sidney John, Jimmal Peltier, Larian Tulloch, Thaj Uno Jules, Dinar O’Deary, Bill Clarke Frederick, and Sherron Vidal.
Ithoma James will serve as head coach for the Dominican men’s team, while Albert Loblack will serve as head coach and Anna-Maria Panthier as assistant coach in the women’s team.
DAVA took to Facebook to congratulate the selected players, sharing that Team Dominica is ready to “make their mark on the regional stage and compete for championship glory.” It also wished the players success in their upcoming tournaments, encouraging them to remain focused and make the country proud.
