Dominica’s volleyball teams has won two bronze medals at the 2026 ECVA Beach Volleyball Champs, with Joanne Pascal and Adicia Burton winning for women.
Dominica’s volleyball teams has won two bronze medals following a three-day intense 2026 ECVA’s beach volleyball competition in St. Lucia. In the men’s event, the duo Yahn Florent and Mervin Mingo secured the medal for Dominica with a straight-set victory over Saint Lucia, while Joyan Pascal and Adicia Burton claimed bronze after a hard-fought three-set battle in the women’s competition.
The Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) has announced the three winners for both the men and women division for the 2026 ECVA Senior Beach Volleyball Championships which took place from the 1st to the 3rd of May 2026.
The Championship was held at Cul-de-Sac in Saint Lucia and the overall winners for the competition were St. Kitts and Nevis (1st place), St. Lucia (2nd place) and Dominica (3rd place) for the men’s teams. Moreover, in the women’s section, Grenada took gold, St. Maarten took silver and Dominica bronze.

Team Dominica’s (men) results were a solid victory of 2–0 (21–17, 21–9) for Yahn Florent and Mervin Mingo, who won both sets effortlessly; and a 2 –1 (21–15, 20–22, 15–8) win for Joanne Pascal and Adicia Burton. Both teams faced St. Lucia in their medal matches, with the men battling against Joseph Clercent and Sheldon Descartes and the women against Denila Prospere and Amalia Louis who both put up a good fight.
ECVA held and award ceremony and has congratulated the top three winners for their hard work and dedication to the sport, encouraging them to continue training.
The Dominica Amateur Volleyball Association (DAVA) shared pictures of the award ceremony on Facebook, informing the fans and supporters of the teams’ achievements.
Fans have also taken to the comment section to congratulate Team Dominica for representing the country well within the region.
