Dominica’s Jazz ’n Creole Festival returns with Afro Eleganc | Dominica News DM

The annual festival will take place on 3 May 2026, featuring regional and international artists alongside a celebration of African-inspired style.

Dominica: Dominica Festival has announced this year’s theme, rooted in culture and style, and a few artists who will be taking the stage as Dominica’s Jazz ‘n Creole returns to the Nature Island this May. 

With only one month remaining to Dominica’s cultural music festival, Dominica Festivals Committee has confirmed Michele Henderson and Sonny Bivins’ Manhattans in the artist line-up of Dominica’s Jazz ‘n Creole 2026. In addition, stars including Tarrus Riley and the Blak Soil Band and Dean Fraser will also be in attendance.  

This event will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Fort Shirley in Cabrits National Park, starting from 2 p.m. 

 A few days back, the festival’s committee announced this year’s theme to be Afro Elegance, celebrating African roots, Caribbean culture and its cultural influence in style.

The Committee has also shared a style guide and colour palette, which features African prints, bold colours with different accents. The women’s look will feature dresses with Kente or Ankara prints, flowing maxi skirts in bold colours and elegant accessories like gold statement jewellery, headwraps and turbans.  

Moreover, according to the dress code, men will appear in classy linen suits or tailored shirts. The men’s look will be complemented by Ankara jackets, fedoras and wooden accessories.  

For the colour palette, the Committee shared that this year’s colours are inspired by the beauty of the Nature Island, featuring golden sun, royal purple, teal blue and natural bamboo.  

The Ministry of Tourism and the Dominica Festivals Committee have invited everyone to participate in an afternoon of live music, Creole culture and community.   

Tickets are now available for purchase, with General tickets going for EC$ 200 (USD $77) and the VIP tickets priced at EC $450 (USD $173).
