Grade Six National Assessment 2026 Begins in Dominica | Dominica News

Dominica’s Grade Six National Assessment 2026 runs May 28–29 with 792 students across 62 centres, covering core subjects and essays nationwide.

Dominica: Students in Dominica have officially begun their Grade Six National Assessment on Thursday, May 28, 2026, with a total of 792 (380 girls and 412 boys) candidates registered to sit for the exam. The exams will be held across 62 testing centers island wide and will take place from Thursday to Friday, May 29, 2026.  and are 

The national exams are scheduled to begin at 7:45 AM on both days, with the two-day schedule divided into: Language Arts and Social Sciences papers, alongside the Composition essay on day one and Mathematics and Science & Technology papers on the second day. According to the Ministry of Education, HR Planning, Vocational Training & Nat'l Excellence, the assessment papers will follow a multiple-choice format.  

The Ministry of Education has shared that the teachers and school administrators have underwent extensive preparations to ensure a smooth execution of the examinations and have extended their well wishes to all grade six students.  

Taking to Facebook, the Ministry wrote, “We wish all our students the very best as they complete their exams. Stay confident, do your best, and remember, you’ve got this!”  

Both parents and teachers were also mentioned in the message, with the Ministry thanking them for their continued support, encouragement and dedication in the learner’s journey.

Moreover, Prime Minister Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit has also extended his well wishes to the students, encouraging them to believe in themselves and to give their all.  

To all students sitting the Grade Six National Assessment today and tomorrow, I extend best wishes for your success. You have worked hard and prepared well with the support of your teachers and parents. Believe in yourselves, stay focused and do your very best, shared the Prime Minister.  

The Ministry of Education has urged all parents, guardians and members of the public to avoid the school compounds during the two days in order to maintain a calm and distraction-free environment for all students.  

All motorists have also been asked to lower their music and to avoid using horns when passing by the area.
