Despite both boys’ teams creating opportunities to settle the match at the end of regulation time, neither team scored during the second half, resulting in the referee awarding five minutes extra time.
During the first period of the extra time, both primary schools failed to score, however, on the second period, Grand Fond Primary School made a smart tactical move of sending the regular Goalkeeper, Malik Jean Jacques, to play as a striker.
This decision changed the course of the game in their favour, as a short while later, Malik Jacques scored a second goal for Grand Fond Primary School. This goal broke the spirit of the Morne Prosper/Trafalgar/Wotten Waven Primaries Combined team who soon conceded a third goal scored by Tayh George, giving a victory of 3 goals total to Grand Fond.
The Dominica Sports Division held an award ceremony for the top teams, congratulating the boys for their hard work and distributing the trophy and medals to the players. Second place was given to the Morne Prosper/Trafalgar/Wotten Waven Primaries Combined team and third place to Soufriere Primary School.
In the award ceremony, Malik Jean Jacques was also crowned the most Valuable Player of the final.
