Dominica: The Dominica Hospitals Authority (DHA) has announced that all services at the Marigot Hospital will be closed for a duration of two days, Tuesday and Wednesday, September 22-23, 2026. This temporary halt in services is due to scheduled maintenance works which will be carried out in the two days.
The announcement was shared yesterday as the Dominica Hospitals Authority released a public notice, informing citizens in Marigot and other residents in the surrounding communities that the Nurse Doris Musgrave Health and Wellness Centre will be available for emergency and medical care during this period.
In the notice, the Hospitals Authority advised, "The public is hereby informed that all services at the Marigot Hospital will be temporarily suspended on Tuesday, 22 and Wednesday, 23 September 2026, to facilitate scheduled maintenance works. Residents of Marigot and surrounding communities are advised to access the Nurse Doris Musgrave Health and Wellness Centre for any emergency or medical attention during this period."
The DHA also reiterated its commitment to ensuring quality healthcare services are provided to all and thanked the public for its understanding and cooperation during the temporary suspension.
"The Dominica Hospitals Authority remains committed to delivering quality healthcare. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this temporary suspension of services may cause and thank the public for its understanding and cooperation," shared the DHA.
The Dominica Hospitals Authority has shared the public notice on its official Facebook page, where a few citizens have taken to the comments section to welcome the planned maintenance works, noting that improvements to the facility are important for the delivery of quality healthcare.
