Men’s Health Fair Set for Sunday at Grand Bay Health Centre | Dominica News

Dominica’s Ministry of Health will host a Men’s Health Fair on September 20 at Grand Bay Health Centre, offering access to specialists and health screenings.

Dominica: The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Social Services has announced that it is organising a Men's Health Fair in recognition of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. The Health Fair is scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 20, 2026, and is part of the events set for Caribbean Wellness Month 2026.

This initiative, being a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Health, the Grand Bay Health Team and the China Medical Team, will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Grand Bay Health Centre.

The health fair aims to promote men's health and wellness while raising awareness of prostate cancer and encouraging men to take greater care of their health. Men will have access to specialists, including urologists, cardiologists, anaesthesiologists and ophthalmologists. Special attention will also be given to men in key professions such as bus drivers, fire officers, teachers and police officers.

The Ministry of Health has shared information about the Men's Health Fair on its official Facebook page, underscoring the importance of men's health in the community.

On its post, the Ministry shared, "Caribbean Wellness Month is about "Engaging, Empowering and Elevating" our health and the Grand Bay Health Team is making sure the men of our communities are part of the conversation! This is your opportunity to get informed, get checked and take charge of your health."

The Ministry went on to encourage the men to participate, noting that knowledge and early detection can make a meaningful difference to their health and well-being.

"Men, don’t wait until something feels wrong to pay attention to your health. Knowledge, early detection and healthy choices can make a difference. Bring a friend. Encourage a brother. Tell your partner. Let’s get our men talking, checking and taking action!" wrote the Ministry.
