Dominica: The Rhapsody of the Seas opened Dominica’s 2026-2027 cruise season on Thursday, October 8, arriving at the Roseau Cruise Ship Berth with approximately 2,100 passengers aboard.
The 2026-2027 Cruise Season began with full force on October 8, 2026 till the month of July 2027 with an expected 267 cruise calls over the whole season expecting 475,521 passengers - a 23% growth over last year. The opener cruise MV Rhapsody of the Seas arrived at the Roseau Ship Berth today with 2100 passengers travelling through it arriving in Dominica from San Juan, Puerto Rico operating on a 7 night round - trip via Southern Caribbean itineraries from its base port San Juan.
Aiming towards achieving a target of 1 million passengers by the year 2030, with 80% of passenger concentration between December and March, the peak sea traffic is expected around 28 December 2026 - 19 February 2027, boasting over 9600 passengers from the ships MV Queen Mary 2 MV Arvia. The largest vessel of the season, MSC World Europa, is expected to dock in 9 times in the months of December - April.
The ports expected to be the busiest both commercially and tourist economy are Roseau Cruise Ship Berth, adjacent to downtown Roseau, handling the majority of sea - traffic including the cruise season opener MV Rhapsody of the Seas , also featuring season’s largest vessel - MSC World Europa. Second in the line is Woodbridge Bay Port on a distance of one mile north of Roseau exhibited a marvellous handling capacity by showcasing premium vessels like MV Majestic Princess comprising over 4200 passengers.
