Dominica: The Dominica Cricket Association (DCA) has announced the official launch of the 2026 National Cooperative Credit Union (NCCU) Premier League season in the country. The League began on Saturday, May 16, 2026, with an opening round of matches for both Saturday and Sunday.
The NCCU Premier League 2026 officially bowled off during the weekend, marking the start of the island's top-tier cricket calendar. The tournament opened with a two-day red ball competition, where matches were played across two major venues including the Geneva Playing Field in Grand Bay and the Botanic Gardens in Roseau.
Featuring six teams across Dominica, including defending champions KFC Summits Sports Club, Convenience Plus Mahaut and Nagico Northern Stars Sports Club, the 2026 League began on a high note. The tournament also saw action from Grand Bay Cooperative Credit Union Colts, Tremors and the Sign Man Kalinago Blasters.
On opening day, KFC Summits Sports Club faced off against the Sign Man Kalinago Blasters where they began defending their championship title at the Geneva Playing field, while at the Botanic Gardens, Nagico Northern Stars Sports Club competed with Grand Bay Cooperative Credit Union Colts.
The announcement for the start of the league was made by the Cricket Association during a media press conference which took place on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Prevost Cinemall Conference Room in Roseau.
