New India Goodwill Runnerz Stripped of Women’s Premier Leagu | Dominica News DM

The Dominica Football Association has awarded the 2025/26 Women’s Premier League title to Roosevelt Skerrit Portsmouth Bombers FC after ruling that New India Go

Dominica: The Roosevelt Skerrit Portsmouth Bombers FC are now the new champions of the 2025/2026 DFA Women’s Premier League, while the New India Goodwill Runnerz have been demoted from champions to third-place finishers  

Yesterday, March 30, 2026, the Dominica Football Association announced that the New India Goodwill Runnerz have been revoked of the Women’s Premier League Champions title, awarding it to the Roosevelt Skerrit Portsmouth Bombers FC.  

The Football Association shared that it made this decision after a careful review, where it discovered that the New India Goodwill Runnerz used an ineligible player during the match. 

The DFA Women’s Premier League ended a few weeks ago with the final match being played between New India Goodwill Runnerz and Roosevelt Skerrit Portsmouth Bombers FC. The game ended in a 3 – 2 score, where the Runnerz won and were awarded the championship title.  

The Belfast Estate Mahut Soca Strikers came in second place, and Roosevelt Skerrit Portsmouth Bombers FC was placed in third position.  

Following this assessment, Bombers FC and the Goodwill Runnerz have switched places, with Bombers FC now holding the championship title and Portsmouth Runnerz in third place.  Moreover, Belfast Estate Mahut Soca Strikers has retained its initial second position. 

Dominica Football Association shared these changes on its Facebook page, where it declared Bombers FC as the winners of the 2025–2026 DFA Women’s Premier League. The Association then extended its apologies to the team and everyone who was affected by the situation.  

The DFA apologises to Roosevelt Skerrit Portsmouth Bombers FC and all stakeholders for the situation and thanks everyone for their understanding, shared the Football Association. 

A few fans have taken to the comment section and commended the Association for resolving the issue, stating that the Runnerz were deserving of the title due to their fair play.
