Skerrit said the victory reflects citizens’ confidence in Browne’s leadership and reaffirmed Dominica’s commitment to stronger diplomatic ties.
Dominica: Prime Minister Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit has extended a congratulatory message to the newly elected Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne, for winning the fourth consecutive term in 2026 general elections. Skerrit stated that the victory is a reflection of the citizens’ confidence in Browne’s leadership and that Dominica looks forward to further strengthening its diplomatic ties with Antigua and Barbuda.
The Antigua and Barbuda general elections were held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, with the results being on PM Browne’s favour. Browne and his party, the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) won by a large margin, securing 15 out of 17 seats in the House of Representatives.
In his message, Dr. Skerrit wrote, “On behalf of the Government and people of Dominica, I extend warm congratulations to my friend and comrade, Prime Minister Gaston Browne, on his commanding victory in Thursday’s general elections,”

Skerrit went on to state that he will continue having good relations with the PM Browne, with the goal of advancing the country and improving the lives of all citizens.
