PM Skerrit meets New Zealand envoy Linda Te Puni to strengthen cooperation and advance development goals between Dominica and New Zealand.
Dominica: Prime Minister Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit hosted a diplomatic meeting with New Zealand’s High Commissioner to Dominica, Linda Charlotte Te Puni, welcoming her as she officially begins her diplomatic duties in the country and stating that he looks forward to continued cooperation between the two Governments.
The Prime Minister welcomed the newly accredited High Commissioner during an official meeting with her at the Office of the Prime Minister where the two engaged in productive discussions on how to strengthen the Dominica-New Zealand relationship for the benefit of the citizens in both countries.
According to Dr. Skerrit, the two discussed different areas of opportunities for cooperation and development, highlighting the country’s sustainable development goals.
This meeting follows High Commissioner Puni’s engagement with President Sylvanie Burton on Friday, June 19, 2026, where Puni officially presented her letters of credence to Burton during a welcoming ceremony at the State House in Roseau.
At the ceremony, the High Commissioner had reiterated New Zealand’s commitment to supporting Dominica’s development priorities, pledging to continue advancing their partnership.
