Dominica: The Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit, has extended warm birthday wishes to India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, as he celebrates his 76th birthday on September 17, 2026. Dominica's Prime Minister has wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi good health and continued strength on behalf of the Government and People of Dominica.
Earlier today, the Prime Minister of Dominica took to X to extend his birthday greetings, with the message reflecting goodwill towards PM Modi’s personal well-being.
On his post, Prime Minister Skerrit wrote, “On behalf of the Government and people of the Commonwealth of Dominica, I extend warm birthday wishes to Prime Minister @narendramodi. May the year ahead bring you good health and continued strength in service to the people of India."
Skerrit's message reinforces the friendly diplomatic ties and goodwill between the Government of Dominica and the Government of India. It speaks of the longstanding years of partnership that rests on shared values.
The Dominica-India relationship has yielded significant benefits for the nation of Dominica. During the period of the COVID-19 pandemic, India was seen donating 70,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines in 2021 through the Vaccine Maitri initiative.
Moreover, India has also supported Dominica through financial assistance of $250,000 for five community development projects across the island. This assistance was directed towards improving community infrastructure and supporting the local development, including the rehabilitation of a basketball court in Grand Bay and construction of a footpath crossing, in Fond St. Jean.
