Roseau Central to Host “Diamonds of the Season” Event | Dominica News

Roseau Central will celebrate Mother’s Day on May 10 with the “Diamonds of the Season” event, honoring mothers with drinks, dinner, and fun.

Dominica: The Parliamentary Representative for Roseau, Melissa Poponne- Skerrit, has invited residents to take part in this regal experience meant to honour the mothers in the community. The Roseau Central Diamonds of the Season Mother’s Day event will be celebrated on May 10, 2026.  

The Parliamentary Representative for Roseau and the Minister of Housing, Land and Urban Development, Melissa Poponne-Skerrit announced that the prestigious annual Mother’s Day event will once again be hosted for the resident of Roseau Central constituency.  

This year, the Mother’s Day event is themed “Diamonds of the Season”, where each mother will be recognised and celebrated for her impact in the household and community at large. 

To honour these mothers, Parliamentary Representative Melissa Skerrit has planned a relaxing event filled with drinks, dinner and entertainment.  The Roseau Central Diamonds of the Season is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 10, 2026, and based on the shared event promotional poster, the event will likely feature florals, fascinators, highlighting elegance.

The Representative shared the event announcement poster on her Facebook page with the caption, “Something beautiful is coming, Roseau Central, get ready to celebrate our queens. This Mother’s Day, we honour the strength, grace, and love of the incredible women who continue to shape our homes and our community.”  

Women have taken to the comment section, excited for this year’s event, with some expressing appreciation to Melissa for once again hosting an event that honours the mothers for all their contributions.   

“Awesome stuff! Every day is Mother’s Day, but that one day to celebrate and appreciate them not only for who they are, but the tireless work they put into our lives to make us the men and women we become, is more than special,” commented Facebook user Kae.  

According to Melissa Skerrit, the official event invitations will be shared at a later date.
