Seven women from across Dominica will compete in the 2026 National Madam Wob Dwiyet Pageant, celebrating culture and heritage on October 22.
Dominica: Seven women from communities across Dominica will be competing in the 2026 National Madam Wob Dwiyet Pageant. This will bring together their personal stories, community service, and love for Dominican culture during one of the island’s major cultural events.
The pageant is being organized by the Commonwealth of Dominica Division of Culture in collaboration with the National Cultural Council and the Ministry of Culture, Youth, Sports and Community Development.
This competition is part of the Independence celebrations, which is usually held from September until National Day on November 3. Madam Wob Dwiyet is one of the traditional national costumes that are usually worn by the women on the island.
According to the schedule, the main competition and coronation will take place on Wednesday, October 22, 2026. It will be held at the Old Mill Cultural Centre in Canefield, Dominica.

The 2026 programme also includes the National Miss Wob Dwiyet Pageant for women aged 50 and over. Evelina Blanc, who holds the reigns as the current queen, is expected to crown her successor.
Seven Contestants of the 2026 National Madam Wob Dwiyet Pageant
Martha Dangleben (Grand Bay) - She was born in Trinidad and Tobago to Dominican parents, but has been living in Dominica for 38 years. A mother and grandmother, she has experience in calypso, songwriting, and cultural competitions. In 2026, she emerged as First Runner-up in the Madam Isidore Pageant.
Hazel-Ann Anthony (Mahaut) - A mother of three children and grandmother of four grandchildren, Hazel-Anthony serves her community in many ways. She is the senior citizens' home caregiver in Mahaut. She loves music, traveling, cooking, and Dominican culture.
Edmay Titre (Good Hope / San Sauveur) - Titre, who is a mother of three and a farmer, has been participating in Dominican cultural events, including Mas Domnik, with the Good Hope Black Devils for many years. She was the First Runner-Up in the 2022 Good Hope Madam Wob competition.
Simonne Joseph-Toussaint (Portsmouth) - A mother of nine and an experienced farmer, Joseph-Toussaint has a strong connection to Dominican culture and nature. She is the 2025 Northern Madam Wob Dwiyèt.
Gloria Merrifield (Grand Bay) - She is a mother of four and a grandmother of three. She takes part in various social groups in Grand Bay and enjoys cooking, gardening and entertaining people.
Cynthia Talbert (Pichelin) - Cynthia is a mother of four and a seller of seasonal products, with a dream of opening her own business in future. She loves singing and dancing and wants to assist needy people using her success.
Carol Jno Jules (Imperial Road / Goodwill) - Carol is a retired professional and entrepreneur. She has a Diploma in Development Studies from Ruskin College, Oxford. Her professional background involved labor relations, administration and entrepreneurship. She now participates in the pageant as a symbol of culture, family, and a new chapter in life.
