Dominica has confirmed that Ti Vilaj Kwéyòl will run from October 19 to 22, 2026, after rumours of cancellation raised concerns among vendors and visitors.
Gloria Joseph, Permanent Secretary of Dominica’s Ministry for Small Business Development in her official statement dismissed the rumors of Ti Vilaj Kweyole.
The festival themed as “Tout Biten Domnik” will happen the same way as it was scheduled earlier for four days of October starting from October 19th to October 22nd , 2026. The opening ceremony of the festival will begin on Monday - October 19,2026.
Addressing the ongoing rumors and misinformation spread in the public, the secretary in her direct official video broadcast clearly stated that there is no change or cancellation of any event or plan or schedule of Ti Vilaj Kweyole and urged every Dominica citizen to come and take part and enjoy the festival to their fullest and live every moment of it since every time it is a new experience of visiting and exploring Ti Vilaj Kweyole.
Shredding light on all these recent incidents, she allegedly called out all the social media rumour videos as malicious while dismissing them further calling them out for creating panic, confusion in the people of Dominica, regional tourists and travelling patrons who had booked their trips and organized schedules to attend the festival.
Reacting to all the ongoing series of refute, cancellation news relating to Ti Vilaj Kweyole, she on her personal social media page doubled down writing; “You hear lie!!! Ti Vilaj Kweyol is on as planned” as an act of double reassurance to the public. The situation wasn’t an easy one for the public since over 90 small entrepreneurs had their stalls at stake which also threatened to ruin weeks of financial investment, inventory preparation and the expected revenue for which they spent months working hard on. Scheduled to be held at Dominica Botanical Gardens, the ministry further assured the public that all the logistics have been successfully placed and there would be no inconvenience caused to the public.
